Volkswagen is distributed official information on the updated coupe-cabriolet Eos, which will be presented to the public in November at the Motor Show in Los Angeles. Car sales in the European market will begin in January next year.
Volkswagen, the Eos coupe-cabriolet technically revised, enriched with new features and updated design. The look of the Eos now follows the current design language of the manufacturer. At first glance, the new headlights and grille on the modified eye: here the Eos looks very similar to the Golf VI. From the rear of the Eos at the redesigned, two-piece LED taillights and the newly designed bumper is visible to the diffuser.

LA Auto Show: 2011 Volkswagen EOS


VW has releases the first images and official details for the 2011 Volkswagen Eos facelift which will have its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show at the beginning of next month. Sales in Europe will begin in mid January 2011.

The 2011 Volkswagen Eos facelift comes with BlueMotion technology and a newly developed Start/Stop system that work together to reduce the vehicles fuel consumption and CO2 emissions level. For example, the 2011 Volkswagen Eos 2.0 TDI, that outputs 103 kW / 140 PS, offers now a 4.8 l/100 km fuel consumption, which is 0.7 l/100 km lower than the previous version.

On the styling front, the convertible features redesigned bumpers, modified headlights, a revised grille, and LED taillights. Inside, the cabin boasts a new multi-function display and optional 'Cool' leather seats which reflect sunlight and heat. Tech goodies include Light Assist (which automatically switches between high- and low beams), Park Assist, and Keyless Access.

The 2011 Eos has received multiple equipment additions, such as a multi-function color Premium display, Lights Assist, the second generation of the Park Assist, Keyless Access.
The vehicle’s engine range includes one diesel unit and three petrol units. The diesel is a 140 hp unit that can be mated to a six-speed manual or to a six-speed DSG automatic. The entry-level petrol unit is a 122 hp 1.4 TSI, which is followed by a 160 hp incarnation of the same engine and by a 210 hp 2.0 TSI engine (this is borrowed from the Golf GTI). All the petrol units come with a six-speed manual transmission, while the range-topper can be ordered with a six-speed DSG gearbox.

The interior has been revised to play up the center stack of controls. New materials are said to give the Eos a higher sense of quality. A new steering wheel has been specified, too.

Pricing for the 2011 Volkswagen Eos remains unchanged from the just-superseded version; $46,990 for the Eos 103TDI and $48,990 for the Eos 155TSI, excluding on-road costs.

Volkswagen has unveiled the new face of the Eos convertible coupé ahead of its public debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show on 17 November.

The modifications bring the Eos in line with the latest iteration of Volkswagen’s design language as seen applied to the new Polo, Passat and Sharan. Horizontal lines dominate the front of the car with a prominent new grille complete with chrome highlights that create the impression that the Eos is wider and lower than the car it replaces. A set of new headlight units, similar in shape to those fitted to the Golf, features the option of integrated LED daytime running lights to lend the revised Eos an elegant new look.

A revised front bumper featuring new airdams and fog lights is joined by a reprofiled bonnet. At the back of the car a set of new tail lights, drawing on the look of those fitted to the new Passat, creates a distinctive new appearance.

As before, the Eos features an advanced five piece folding roof with an integrated tilt sliding glass sunroof. To go from a closed coupé to an open cabriolet – an operation that can now be undertaken remotely via the key fob if the car is specified with Keyless Entry – takes just 25 seconds while the boot capacity ranges from 205 litres when the roof is down up to 380 litres with the roof closed.

Inside, new trim finishes enhance the interior of the Eos which is both comfortable and extremely well equipped. Highlights include a leather multifunction steering wheel, air conditioning, a powerful eight-speaker CD stereo system and sports seats.

The new Eos will be available with a range of efficient petrol and diesel engines when deliveries commence in the UK early in 2011. These include a 1.4-litre TSI engine developing 122 PS, a 2.0-litre TSI unit producing 210 PS as well as a refined 2.0-litre TDI engine producing 140 PS. This unit, with BlueMotion Technology modifications including automatic Stop/Start and battery regeneration systems, can return a combined economy of 58.8 mpg.

Prices and specifications for the new Eos will be announced when ordering opens for the car in November.

Volkswagen has released the first three official sketch of the new mid-size sedan NMS, which should be placed between the VW Jetta and Passat, and become full-fledged competitor to the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.

In the U.S. Volkswagen NMS cost will be 27,665 dollars and 29,095 dollars per wagon, this means that in some countries the cost of a sedan can not exceed $ 25 000.

The presented images illustrate the design of the new model and its modern guise. The front is a stylish hood, with characteristic lines at the sides, new stands and "shoulder", as well as the three sectors of windows.

Unique front and rear lights only emphasize the unique and sporty design is recognizable Volkswagen. NMS sedan will be presented at the Auto Show in Detroit next year, and selling it will appear in the third quarter of 2011.

Four of them are classic high-tech petrol engines that output 90 kW / 122 PS (1.4 TSI), 118 kW / 160 PS (1.8 TSI), 155 kW / 211 PS (2.0 TSI) and 220 kW / 300 PS (V6). The top engine has six cylinders; all of the other petrol engines are charged four-cylinder engines. Also charged is the 110 kW / 150 PS engine (1.4 EcoFuel) that is configured for natural gas. Another derivative of the 1.4 TSI is the MultiFuel engine with 118 kW / 160 PS designed for use with up to 85 percent ethanol fuel. Four turbodiesel engines are being offered with three power outputs; the four-cylinder engines produce 77 kW / 105 PS (1.6 TDI), 103 kW / 140 PS (2.0 TDI and 2.0 BlueTDI) as well as 125 kW / 170 PS (2.0 TDI). With the exception of the 105 PS TDI, any of the engines of the new VW Passat may be combined with a dual-clutch gearbox (DSG); with the 3.6 V6, this automatic gearbox is standard. Petrol - three four-cylinder TSIs and one V6: Fuel consumption values are impressive. Setting the pace among the petrol engines is the Volkswagen Passat 1.4 TSI with optional BlueMotion Technology. The "smallest" and yet torque-strong turbodiesel (1.6 TDI with 105 PS and 250 Nm) now consumes just 4.2 l/100 km; that is equivalent to 109 g/km CO2. The fatigue detection system, which Volkswagen is introducing for the first time in this class, is continually active; it detects reduced driver concentration and warns the driver with an acoustic signal; a visual message also appears in the instrument cluster recommending that the driver should take a break from driving.[endtext]

On this one, VW really does not surprise us, indeed she seeks to do! Not sure. Here is the 7th generation of Passat as the Volkswagen ad, and in fact most probably, a Passat with a restyled front that includes all the gimmicks of the mark. To find a face that resembles that of ... well, all models of the manufacturer and a reworked rear lights with almost similar to those of the new Sharan and Touran restyled, unless this is the Touareg, it is you see
Of course this is true for the hatchback, the estate version goes for exactly Variant or more which is a vital link to Passat (depending on the time it is over 70% of sales of the Volkswagen family

Lovers will appreciate the small sedan wolfsbourgeoise developments inside the car as the arrival of a very select shows needle at the top of the center console! At least it had to do a 7th generation ...

I tease, but there is a car very well made, well finished and well equipped which always attracts customers both for its style, its look and its statutory range of engines that seems, for now remain the same as we know.

Chapter mécaniqe, VW announced a global reduction in consumption of around 18%, which will favorably psotionner the Passat in the market especially with the Bluemotion version Announced emit only 109 g / km CO2. We should therefore find the following engines:

Gasoline: 1.4 L TSI 122, 1.8 L TSI 160, 2.0 L TSI 211, 150 2.0 FSI, 3.0 FSI V6 250 (the latter two engines are available with 4Motion)

Diesel: 1.6 L TDi 105 2.0 TDi L 110, L 2.0 TDI 140 2.0 TDi L 170

Volkswagen has released the first photos of the pickup Amarok with single cabin, the world premiere will be held at autoexhibition in Hanover, which will open on September 23. Sales of such cars will start on the European market next year, but prices for this car has not been announced.

The novelty length of the loading area reaches 2,205 millimeters, and its total area is 3.57 square meters, which is 650 millimeters or more than one square meter more than the version of the Volkswagen Amarok double cabin.

In Europe, single-cab pickup will be offered with two diesel engines two liters and power 122 and 163 horsepower. The car is available in versions with rear, as well as with the constant drive to all four wheels and the differential Torsen.

The prototype  2010 VolksWagen Cars Beetle Bio-Bug is powered by methane gas which is produced from human waste at sewage works. Another environmentally friendly car has been shown to the world today by Wessex Water in England.

Wessex Water, near Bristol, England, says that human waste from the toilets of 70 homes can power the Bio-Bug for a year.
GENeco believes that more gas will be produced at its Avonmouth site when the company embarks on its latest green venture to recycle food waste. Mr Saddiq said: “Waste flushed down the toilets in homes in the city provides power for the Bio-Bug, but it won’t be long before further energy is produced when food waste is recycled at our sewage works.
At first glance, the Beetle appears to be a publicity stunt for GENeco, which owns a number of waste treatment sites in the U.K. But consider this: A single sewage treatment plant in Bristol, England generates 18 million cubic meters of biogas each year. The Bio-Bug squeezes out 5.3 miles per cubic meter of biogas. So just one sewage treatment plant could keep cars running for 5,400,000 miles each year, according to the British Daily Mail.
The Volkswagen Beetle dubbed the “Bio-Bug” was built for GENeco by UK’s The Greenfuel Company. The Bio-Bug’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine was converted to run on biogas and still hit about 114 miles per hour. However, the Bio-Bug uses regular unleaded gas to start, then switches over to methane automatically once it’s running. GENeco, a company owned by Wessex Water, supplied the equipment to treat the gas. “If you were to drive the car you wouldn’t know it was powered by biogas, as it performs just like any conventional car,” said Mohammed Saddiq, general manager of GENeco, in the release.
Mr. Saddiq explained that GENeco had been supplying treated compressed methane gas to generate electricity for the plant site and exported to the National Grid. The fuel for the Bio-Bug was surplus gas “we had available” and “we wanted to put it to good use in a sustainable and efficient way.”
The Bio-Bug was built by the Greenfuel Company, which specializes in converting gas cars to run on liquified petroleum gas.

It is a luxury supercar, it will only be built in a limited number of 200 units. It was designed to be able to cruise around in the year 2020. Volkswagen supercar presented at the 2010 Swansea Metropolitan University Degree Show in automotive design by Peter Wilkins not only promises to run by solar power with greater efficiency but also offers a competitive design styling.

Peter Wilkins has designed one helluva eco-friendly car for the 2010 Swansea Metropolitan University Degree Show. His supercar would run off of an electric motor powered by photovoltaic cells, or a hydrogen fuel cell stack. Peter Wilkins’ design is one of the sexiest eco-cars I have ever seen. Making earth-friendly cars that look good is a great idea.
The unique design of Wilkins permits each of the four wheels of the vehicle to be driven by an independent electric motor powered by solar energy stored in photovoltaic (PV) cells. The upper external surface of the vehicle stores the PV cells that further supply power to the mid-mounted hydrogen fuel-cell stack, which is directly linked to the electric motors. Placement of the PV cells and hydrogen fuel-cell stack form an integral part of the elegant design of the eco car that looks like part of a supercar.
The “VW Solar Powered Supercar” by designer Peter Wilkins is a concept car that demonstrates the aesthetic aspect of eco-friendly vehicles to attract more people toward sustainable commuting.
Simply known as the “VW Solar Powered Supercar”, this vehicle shows how just clean and green travel can get, and fast too. To power up, the car turns its face away from the smelly gas pump and integrates photovoltaic cells in its body instead. It uses these to juice up with solar power.

The energy generated is used to power up a mid-mounted hydrogen fuel cell stack, resulting in a drive without the smoke and the pitch-black carbon footprint supercars usually leave behind these days.
